Dave Naked
We have decided on a pact as a band, one common goal that we all abide by. The day we stop having fun doing this thing, we will quit. It is all about having a good time doing this thing called music, and the moment it gets boring is the time we will stop.

Our Beginnings....
Dave Naked was formed in October of 2000. Matt had been looking for other musicians to jam with for years in Marquette, and had just about lost hope in finding a bunch of good guys to jam with. He began a new job, doing grunt work for the school, in order to make rent and party money. The first day of work, Matt met Jesse, a skinny kid trying to pretend he was bigger by flexing all the time and going to the gym. Jesse had played in several other bands over the years with his brother, Luke, and had jammed occasionally with a singer, Tony.

After initally disliking each other (Matt thought Jesse was incredibly lazy at work--and still does)they found a common interest: music. After a jam at Matt's apartment one evening, Matt agreed to meet with Luke and Tony to jam and see how it all fit. After introductions and handshakes, the first few chords rang out. A few minutes later, after a blues song filled with improvisation by everyone, dazed and amazed looks were exchanged all around. An unexplainable connection had formed, and the rest is history.

( Matt definetly wrote this if your wondering )
( Should I bring up some names and weights big guy )

Sounds
Dave Naked's sound is immediately recognizable. Tony's distinct voice hurls the music at the audience with all the strength and grit of a gravel truck hurling down a dusty road. Matt's guitar work is a mixture of structure and improvisation, mixing classic blues licks with bluegrass, country, and metal. Luke's bass has never once been quiet, as a blend of slap, funk, and other unexplainable noise spews forth. And finally, Jesse's drum kit suffers nightly from his array of different beats, ranging from jazz to heavy metal to jungle war rythms.

Practices are usually filled with going over old songs, incorporating Dave Naked origionals, telling stories of wild nights from the past weekend, and the rest of the band telling Luke to "shut the hell up on that damn thing or i'll staple your tounge to your chin."

Dave Naked prides itsself on pleasing the crowd. It tries to always read the crowd, and judges its success on whether or not the crowd is singing along enthusiastically. Along with several originals, they play songs from various bands such as: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Limp Bizkit, Rage Against the Machine, Van Morrison, Spin Docters, Blues Traveler, Jimi Hendrix, Poison, The Black Crowes, Lenny Kravitz, and several others.
